Yeah, new music.

So I finally got around to listening to the new Underoath album.  Yeah I know it’s been out for over a month now, but i just I just now listened to “Lost in the sound of seperation.”  All I have to say now is it’s pretty bad ass.  Alot darker and heavier than their couple of previous albums, and it sounds good.  Fat ass drums too.

It’s almost six on friday, which means it’s time to get outtttaa here!  lata

Finally Updated

So I finally updated my blog’s style to look more like my portfolio, all of that “branding” shananagins.  I installed K2 which I learned about at Blog Orlando, and it didn’t take more than an hour to customize it enough to make me happy for now.  Ha.

I suppose if I have some more time later I’ll update the typogrophy and colors to be more consistent with my portfolio, but for now it’s at least better than the default theme.

Blog Orlando

Yep.  Saturday I went with some of my co workers at NFi Studios to the third Blog Orlando.  I have to say, not to shabby.  There was some interesting conversation, picked up a few good tips and got to hang out at Rollins College in Winter Park.  Plus during lunch I got to drop in and check out a super sweet bikeshop, Loco Motion.

Not a bad day at all.

Idiots.

I’ve noticed recently something that really annoys me are spelling errors.  I saw someone write “permotions,” and elsewhere I saw something so stupid I can’t remember.  It wouldn’t be that bad on paper, because I’ll admit I’m not the best speller, but this is the freakin’ internet.  It doesn’t take more than three seconds to google a sentence or word and it will let you know what’s spelled wrong.  Not to mention browsers like Firefox will automatically spell check and underline what’s wrong.  Really.  It’s not that hard.

Man, its been a crazy week for sure.  Alot has been happening.  I’ve been working full time at NFi Studios since the start of August and that’s been going very well.  I’m still getting used to working everyday, it’s quite a transition from school.  In other news, the CoLab Orlando open house was last Wednesday and that was great.  It was nice to see people from the community come out and be enthused about the project.  I’m looking forward to where it goes.

I think I’m gonna start riding a bike to work.  It’ll be saving time and money and great exercise.  How can you say no?  This one looks pretty sweet.  What do you think?

Last night my roommate said “hey, check this out, it’s Radiohead live.”  I thought oh, youtube, that’s cool.  But then he said “No, it’s live right now….from California.”  We hooked up my laptop to the tv and stereo and it was an instant Radiohead show, in our living room.  Pretty crazy when you think about all the details of making something like that happen.  Anyhow.  lattta.

Alas! Work is growing and I’m super stoked about it. I started working part-time at NFi Studios as a graphic and web design intern, and while I’ve been there for a little over a month, now it’s bringing in money! I’m picking up some more freelance projects as well and I’ve partnered with Matt Everley of m.e.designlab for a new website. Recently friendsposter.com launched, I was responsible for a lot of the development at NFi, check it out!

Overall I’m very excited and would love to talk to you about your next project!

Ha ha! Fun with old cameras! My grandfather gave me his old medium format camera, the well renown Ciro-flex and I shot with it for the first time today. It’s alot different from digital which I’ve become accustom to. No more instant gratification, rather I the anticipation is building and I have no idea how the shots will turn out. Light leaks? Streaks? Bad exposures? Who knows?!? It’s fun and exiting though, and I’m sure they’ll have a great character to them. I’ll be sure to put up some shots after I have them processed.

I started working with a local web design company about two weeks ago as design intern. So far it’s been pretty sweet. I’m excited to be getting involved in the design scene around Orlando, and I’m super stoked about learning. Even in just the short amount of time I’ve been there I’ve learned a lot more about web development and a little more of the business side of the trade. I’m looking forward to where it’s going.

I’ve also added a couple of other things to the site, working on keeping it up to date. Check it out!

Man oh man. I was informed that the css on the photo page doesn’t display properly in IE6. So, I’m learning more, and making it work. In the meantime, it may be a bit buggy, but it works for the most part.  Oh yeah, I’m 23 now.

First wp post

After a few hours, I’ve gotten wordpress installed and configured. Not too difficult, and it let me experiment with php a little bit, something I haven’t done too much of. I did lose the previous posts, no real way to backdate stuff but I’m really excited that this site is coming together the way I envisioned it. I’m looking forward to working as well, time to make it happen.
